Testing on an early prototype[5] of the DEADEYE suit was done on ANVIL Station in conjunction with Sangheili Rangers of the Swords of Sanghelios. These tests aimed to improve the suit's stealth capabilities.[2]

It was originally tested in Tribute's ship graveyard in Tribute's northern pole, and was designed for use by experienced Spartan marksmen.[3] During the testing the Spartans were placed in zero-gravity to affect long-range combat against exoatmospheric drones hidden among the wreckage.[1]
At some point in 2558, Spartan Kojo Agu tested another Deadeye prototype during a counter-piracy operation on Concord.[6]
