The DECIMATOR-class Mjolnir is a MJOLNIR armor variant designed by the Materials Group.[1]
Overview
The DECIMATOR is the closest GEN2 armor variant to the MJOLNIR Mark VII and features a versatile energy shielding system that can be partially reshaped and sculpted.[1] Like the Mark VII, DECIMATOR's physical architecture closely resembles the GEN1 Mjolnir B variant.
Development history
The DECIMATOR-class Mjolnir is an attempt by the Office of Naval Intelligence's Materials Group to re-engineer major improvements of the Mjolnir Mark VII prototypes into the second generation of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor. The most successful of these efforts is the DECIMATOR armor's sophisticated energy shielding system.[1]
Usage
DECIMATOR is mostly unknown outside the Spartan branch,[2] with even few Spartan or UNICOM commanders privy to the full details of the armor's development history.[1]

Behind the scenes
First mentioned in Canon Fodder Issue 48 "Reqlamation Begins",[2] the DECIMATOR-class Mjolnir was later confirmed to appear in Halo 5: Guardians in Canon Fodder Issue 50 "Fifty Caliber".[3] Internally, DECIMATOR armor began as "A092" when it was first conceived.[4]
