Production overview

Manufacturer(s):

Materials Group[1]

Type:

Mjolnir [GEN2][1]

The DECIMATOR-class Mjolnir is a variant of the MJOLNIR [GEN2] armor. It is the closest GEN2 armor variant to the MJOLNIR Mark VII. DECIMATOR is mostly unknown outside the Spartan branch.[2]

Specifications

The DECIMATOR-class Mjolnir is an attempt by the Office of Naval Intelligence's Materials Group to re-engineer major improvements of the Mjolnir Mark VII prototypes into the second generation of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor. The most successful of these efforts is the DECIMATOR armor's versatile energy shielding system, which can be partially reshaped and sculpted.[1]

Like the Mark VII, DECIMATOR's physical architecture closely resembles the GEN1 Mjolnir B variant. Few Spartan or UNICOM commanders are privy to the full details of the armor's development history.[1]

  • Armor description: The DECIMATOR is Materials Group's attempt to reengineer key improvements of the Mjolnir Mark VII prototypes. The most successful of these efforts is the suit's protean energy shield, which can be partially reshaped and sculpted.

Behind the scenes

First mentioned in Canon Fodder Issue 48 "Reqlamation Begins",[2] the DECIMATOR-class Mjolnir was later confirmed to appear in Halo 5: Guardians in Canon Fodder Issue 50 "Fifty Caliber".[3] Internally, DECIMATOR armor began as "A092" when it was first conceived.[4]
