Were you looking for the Halo: Combat Evolved map with the same name?

Blood Gulch[1][2] is a Halo Wars multiplayer map.

Description

Blood Gulch seems to be based on the Halo: Combat Evolved level, Blood Gulch, as well as the Halo 2 multiplayer map, Coagulation. Blood Gulch is set in a vast canyon, a huge open field with hills, cliffs, and ditches, and cliffs along the rock walls. There is some vegetation, but the terrain is mostly desert-like.

Strategies

  • As there are four bases laid out from one side to the other, when playing Deathmatch, it is advisable to immediately capture the forward rebel base and develop a strong defense in it to protect your rear base.

Discovery

An overview of Blood Gulch

As seen in an OXM magazine article, and on a few websites, editors from OXM visited Ensemble Studios, and were able to play on a multiplayer map called "Blood Gulch".

In the magazine, it states that it is clear the map is based off of the Halo: Combat Evolved map Blood Gulch. With the release of Halo Wars, this map is confirmed as being called Blood Gulch.

Trivia

  • This map has teleporters, as did the original version from Halo CE and the remake in Halo 2.
  • Although not a true remake, it is still vaguely similar Blood Gulch from Halo CE because of the terrain, the overall shape, and the fact that it is in a canyon.
