"Isolation" is a map referenced in the Halo 3 Beta code. No information about it has been provided, and it has not been seen in either leaked or official material. As such, its existence is not confirmed, nor are any of its characteristics. As there are no obvious ties in its name to any previous map, it may be a complete remake of the Halo 2 map Lockout or Coagulation, as opposed to the spiritual successor to Lockout, Guardian (as Last Resort is to Zanzibar or Valhalla is to Blood Gulch. There is also a name similarity to Desolation, though it may be completely original. Some fans speculate that Isolation is a remake of Relic, as Relic was on an island, and most islands are isolated from other land.

"Isolation"[1] is a map first referenced in the Halo 3 Beta code. It then appeared in a leaked photo of the list of Halo 3 maps. Most recently, IGN made an article describing it.[2] It is a medium sized map, taking place in an enclosed, grassy area. The environment is in a bio-bubble which has contained the flood. Two bunkers act as the bases for the teams, with openings in the sides for shooting out of the bases. They connect into a network of underground tunnels. These tunnels offer close-quarter combat.

The map does well for CTF and Team Slayer games, and even Infection, as recommended by Tyson Green. It is similar to Midship due to it's symmetry and openness on the top of the map.
