HELLCAT-class Mjolnir is a variant of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor [GEN2].[1]
Overview[edit]
Development history[edit]
Designed using artifacts from humanity's prehistoric interstellar empire, mostly from ruins of a dead world and the vault of a shattered starship.[Note 1] Spartan-IIs testing the armor showed near-perfect synchronization with the armor, though compatible Spartan-IV operators required an acclimatization period and tweaks to their augmentation maintenance before deployment.[1]
In-game information[edit]
Halo 5: Guardians[edit]
Hellcat was first introduced as an armor set in Halo 5: Guardians. The Hellcat set has two alternate skin designs; Marauder and Onslaught.
Helmet | Description | Unlock requirements |
---|---|---|
Hellcat (helmet) |
Tests with Spartan-II veterans show near-perfect synchronization with HELLCAT armor, but compatible Spartan-IV operators require an acclimatization period and tweaks to their augmentation maintenance before deployment. | Uncommon REQ card |
Hellcat Marauder (helmet skin) |
Tests with Spartan-II veterans show near-perfect synchronization with HELLCAT armor, but compatible Spartan-IV operators require an acclimatization period and tweaks to their augmentation maintenance before deployment. | Rare REQ card |
Hellcat Onslaught (helmet skin) |
Tests with Spartan-II veterans show near-perfect synchronization with HELLCAT armor, but compatible Spartan-IV operators require an acclimatization period and tweaks to their augmentation maintenance before deployment. | Ultra Rare REQ card |
Hellcat (body) |
Built of knowledge stolen from enigmatic ruins on a dead world and materials stripped from the vault of a shattered starship, the HELLCAT is both utterly alien and strangely familiar. | Uncommon REQ card |
Hellcat Marauder (body skin) |
Built of knowledge stolen from enigmatic ruins on a dead world and materials stripped from the vault of a shattered starship, the HELLCAT is both utterly alien and strangely familiar. | Rare REQ card |
Hellcat Onslaught (body skin) |
Built of knowledge stolen from enigmatic ruins on a dead world and materials stripped from the vault of a shattered starship, the HELLCAT is both utterly alien and strangely familiar. | Ultra Rare REQ card |
Production notes[edit]
Internally, Hellcat armor was known by the codename "A084", with the in-game model produced by Airborn Studios.[2] The armor's original design was created by 343 Industries concept artist Kory Lynn Hubbel, in conjunction with fan Andrew Thivyanathan - who had won a contest with the charity Child's Play to design an armor. Thivyanathan wanted to base the armor on that worn by the ancient human soldiers, and the two worked to come up with the design seen in-game. Thivyanathan was also featured in-game as the character Andrew Thivyanathan, a de-glasser working on Meridian.[3][4]

Notes[edit]
- ^ While no direct link has been made, it is worth noting that this "shattered starship" may be the ancient human cruiser found at Site Yankee-002-G3 and documented in ONI XENO-MATERIALS EXPLOITATION REPORT 15Y1198. However, this vessel appears to be fully intact, which would seemingly contradict the statement of Hellcat being designed using materials from a "shattered starship."
