Liberation of Faraday is the seventeenth mission of Halo: Spartan Assault.

Introduction[edit]

Despite the chaos, some Covenant forces remained rooted in strategic locations within the area around Faraday Base. The few surviving Marines and base staff had set up defensive positions in the western sector of the facility, preparing for a last stand against the increasing influx of Covenant.

SPARTAN Palmer arrived at the base's perimeter moments before the Marines would be overrun. Around the base, Palmer managed to secure several Elephants. She then needed to relieve the besieged Marines and get them out of their predicament.

Objectives[edit]

Reach and defend the groups of pinned down UNSC forces[edit]

Spartan Sarah Palmer is standing in the ruins of Faraday Base with many destroyed vehicles around. She moves into the base and encounters Covenant forces. She is attacked by several Sangheili Minors and Kig-Yar Minors. As she fights her way through the base, the ground begins to shake. After the first group, she kills a second group of Sangheili and Kig-Yar warriors. Shortly after, Palmer discovers the first group of surviving Marines at the edge of a cliff. However, the humans are soon attacked by more Sangheili and Jiralhanae Jumper lands nearby. Once all Covenant forces are eliminated, the three Marines leave the area and Palmer continues north. After killing a lance of Kig-Yar, the Spartan discovers the second group of Marines under attack by Sangheili and Kig-Yar forces. After meeting with the second group of Marines, they are quickly attacked by numerous Sangheili, Kig-Yar, Jiralhanae, and a Jiralhanae Chieftain. After a long battle, the Covenant forces are eliminated and the Marines retreat south.

As Palmer advances north in another section of Faraday Base, she encounters more Sangheili and Kig-Yar forces, as well as two unmanned Karo'etba-pattern Ghosts. After encountering the third group of Marine survivors, they are attacked by large amounts of Sangheili, Kig-Yar, and Jumper Brutes. If left untouched, several Sangheili begin to operate the previously encountered Ghosts. However, after a massive firefight, the Marines and Palmer defeat the Covenant forces in the area.

Escort the remaining survivors to the extraction point[edit]

Palmer leads the surviving Marines north to an extraction point, fighting past Kig-Yar and Sangheili forces along the way. As they continue north, an Unggoy Minor manning a Mamua'uda-pattern Shade attacks the group, but he is quickly killed. Eventually, Palmer and the Marines make their way to a room inside the base with an M312 Elephant nearby. With Marines outside of it ordering the others to get aboard, the Marines and the Spartan board the Elephant.

Notes[edit]

  1. ^ Roland was activated on December 5, 2557. The events of Halo: Spartan Strike also takes place during 2557, as shown by the introductory cutscene of Operation A: Orphic Spear. Being a sequel to Halo: Spartan Assault it is implied (although not confirmed) that the present day events of Spartan Strike take place after those of Spartan Assault.
