The Yoroi armor core in Halo Infinite.

"Samurai armor from a strange realm."

Yoroi is an armor core employed by samurai of the 343 clans of the Imperial Court in the Tenrai Fractures.[1][2]

Overview

"The first Fracture for Halo Infinite is called "Tenrai," where blessed suits of YOROI are forged using ancient karakuri arts from the raw energies of the land—each hand-crafted for eager young samurai of unimpeachable honor to defend their clan and lands from the barbaric Covenant invaders."
— Fracture: Tenrai Event Launch[2]

Specifications

The physical architecture of the Yoroi armor draws inspiration from its namesake, a Japanese armor named ō-yoroi, including characteristics like a large crest on the helmet, a neck guard made of curved plates, horizontal rows of armor plates on the arm shoulders, and the uwa-obi around the waist. The armor below the waist resembled the haidate, which were thigh guards that tied around the waist and covered the thighs. A small blade is also secured on the waist, with the handle on the wearer's right-hand side for use when grappling in close quarters.
