Yawl

A yawl is a type of reconnaissance spacecraft employed by the Banished. They can be deployed to the edge of a given star system to listen for the presence of superluminal communications beacons, informing a potential attacking force about the status of a given system and when to attack. Once such craft was used by Atriox during his attack on Netherop in 2559, when one such yawl was used to determine the presence of a Created status confirmation beacon.[1]
