Suntéreó is a small habitable moon within human space. First listed in an old colonial directory, the world was discovered in the listing by James Solomon and promptly scrubbed from public knowledge as to keep the world secret. It is named for the Ancient Greek word for preservation.[2]

Overview[edit]

Suntéreó orbits a turquoise gas giant. From orbit it appears as a blue-green sphere with seemingly infinite swaths of bright green, indicating a high population of chlorophyllic plant life. The moon has a relatively mild temperament for most of its annual cycle and was referred to by James Solomon as the "picture of peace, filling the dark void of space".[1]

History[edit]

While dreaming of finding and living a quiet life away from ONI, James Solomon discovered the habitable moon that he named Suntéreó[2] after the ancient Greek word for preserving something by keeping it close[1] in an outdated colonial directory. Only James and his AI Lola knew about it and James imagined one day simply disappearing to there, never to be seen again and never to be needed by ONI or anyone else. However, James quickly realized that that was never going to happen as all that he knew was war and he didn't want to stop, meaning that Suntéreó would remain a dream.[2] Lola saw to wiping Suntéreó's existence from all human records to which she had access, as well as many she formally did not.[1]

After James sacrificed himself to help Chloe Hall to get away from the UNSC, Banished, and Sali 'Nyon's Covenant, Lola took the girl to Suntéreó in his personal Winter-class prowler Cataphract. Determined to fulfil James' last command to keep Chloe safe, she explained that the moon was uninhabited, and she would be the only human there. While James was planning to build a home on Suntéreó one day, he had now given it Chloe. For now, the entire moon was Chloe's. In time, Chloe and Lola would depart and go wherever Chloe wanted, but Suntéreó would always be available as a home for Chloe to return to. Both Chloe and Lola wished that James was with them.[1]
