M12 Chaingun Warthog

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

The Warthog is the trademark light vehicle of the Humans, closely resembling a modern army jeep. It comes in two slightly different forms. The classic Warthog is armed with a standard ligh chaingun, whereas the Guass Warthog fires a heavier, slower shot. The Warthog appears in both games.

The Warthog is considerably lighter than the Scorpion Tank, weighing approximately six tons. It can have a maximum of three occupants: a driver, passenger and gunner. The driver controls the direction the vehicle is moving in, though has no weapon control. The passenger sits beside the driver and can fire shotgun style any weapon they are carrying. Commonly a rocket launcher or sniper rifle is used. The gunner fires the main weapon, and is responsible for defense and offense.

The Warthog has amazing off-road capabilties, being able to transeverse most terrain obstacles with ease. It is considerably more vulnerable than most vehicles, however, as it can be overwhelmed by sheer rifle and pistol power, and the occupants are very vulnerable to snipers.

A popular sport in the original Halo game is to place many grenades underneath the Warthog, then detonate them all at once. The purpose is to try to see how long the Warthog can remain airborne. This is known as the 'Warthog Jump'. The current record is approximately 18 seconds, with over 10,000 degrees of rotation.
