Tenement island

Tenement islands are a kind of structure built by the Sangheili on their homeworld Sanghelios, particularly prominent in the Vadam Valley region. They consist of large compounds in which an entire clan of working Sangheili can reside; in the case of those built in the Vadam Valley, the working clans housed in the tenement islands are the artisan-armorer clans working in service of the Kolaar Manufactorum. Each tenement island can house hundreds of individual Sangheili and their young, unlike the single-brood merchant houses of the Vadam Valley's Old Borough.[1]
