Merge[edit]

I'm not exactly sure about the merge either - while it's convenient to have one main article instead of multiple ones about "unidentified" things, an atmosphere-operated jetpack is considerably different from a thruster pack used in space; the main difference being the fact that only propels the user upwards, whilst a T-PACK needs to have multiple thrusters pointing at many directions, or at least adjustable thrusters. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 19:00, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

In space, you just have to do a barrel roll or front flip to change direction.-- Forerunner 19:11, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

Not exactly, you actually need to have multiple thrusters facing to each direction if you want to maneuver effectively. Think about it; that's why spacecraft cannot use flaps or rudders for maneuvering, and have to rely on thrusters instead. Even real-world EVA propulsion units have numerous thrusters. It's possible that you could manage to move your body in a vacuum, but with the jets pacing in only one direction, it would be impossible to make the tiny course corrections needed in zero-g combat. The novels where the T-PACK is featured (FoR, GoO) seem to imply that it's considerably different from the jetpack seen in Reach. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 20:43, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
Looking at the logs... well, just look at it...
So, what shall we do now? The article looks quite alright as it is though...- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 19:03, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
I merged them because they were incredibly similar and both were just names for an unidentified Jetpack system ("Thruster Pack" seems like an umbrella term for zero-g motion systems).-- Forerunner 19:11, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

Glitch?[edit]

I'm not sure if it is a glitch, but when I use the Jetpack in a custom game or forge and have it unlimited, it flies up for a short period of time, and then can't go any higher, or starts drifting down? And it isn't the skybarrier, because I've checked, and the barrier is usually much higher. DarkbelowHGR CommbandD 23:02, 20 October 2010 (EDT)

I believe it is supposed to be like that. It levels off, slowly begins to fall and then rapidly drops. Spartan 112 23:52, 20 October 2010 (EDT)

Halo 4 Model[edit]

I know that the Halo 4 model is still new, but would someone please put up a screen shot of it? Just saying, will post one as soon as possible myself. Siphon 117 15:44, 13 December 2012 (EST)

There's a page for Halo 4's jump-jet/jet-pack already. --They're coming. They're hungry. (talk) 08:38, 24 February 2014 (EST)

Possible Designation?[edit]

So Mortal Dictata mentions an S-9 SOLA propulsion system, a jetpack used by Naomi, and given that the S-12 SOLA is the proper name for the Halo 4 jetpack, is it possible that the S-9 is the proper name for this model?

Possible if not probable, but it would be guesswork at best. So although it likely is we wouldn't be able to make note of it until it was confirmed by a source.Sith-venator Wavingstrider Fett helmet.jpg (Commlink) 11:33, 24 February 2014 (EST)
