Call Sign Template Tag Needed?[edit]

Should the {{Callsign}} template tag be added? Personally, I think it should be, as we don't really know what it really is called, other than it's nickname that Bungie gave it. Does anyone else think so too? --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 15:06, 10 January 2014 (EST)Xamikaze330

As far as I know, that template is really only meant for characters with a nickname as opposed to a proper name.--Spartacus TalkContribs 16:25, 10 January 2014 (EST)
That would appear to be the intended use of the template, but it is arguable based on the phrasing used in the template that it can be used for other articles as well. Anyway, "Blamite" is actually referred as an ammunition for the Needle Rifle and Needlers in the Bungie podcast as well as in an achievement for Reach.— subtank 09:44, 11 January 2014 (EST)
True, but official sources such as the Halo Encyclopedia or the Halo 4: Essential Visual Guide and books like that do not refer to it as such, which is why I thought it might be necessary that the tag be added. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 12:15, 11 January 2014 (EST)Xamikaze330
Podcasts covering developmental stages by official parties are also considered as official sources. Just because other sources do not refer the subject as such does not negate the fact that one particular source does (even if there appears to be a contradiction, a note must be entered to inform readers of this contradiction).— subtank 14:03, 11 January 2014 (EST)
Yes, I'd forgotten to add that I am willing to leave it at that, regardless. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 14:53, 11 January 2014 (EST)Xamikaze330

I'm willing to bet it's not actually the in-universe proper name for the ammunition, though I could see Marines calling it that (sort of how "fuel rod" is technically a colloquial misnomer). Still, a silly name is better than no name at all.--Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 08:38, 12 January 2014 (EST)

It could very well be.— subtank 19:04, 12 January 2014 (EST)
