A wing is a military unit in use by the United Nations Space Command Air Force[1][2] and Swords of Sanghelios.[3]

Composition
A wing in the UNSC Air Force combines several aircraft squadrons with non-aircraft units to provide services such as airbase operation and fuel refining. Wings are placed on garrison deployments; their counterparts for expeditionary deployments are groups.[1] In the case of the 22nd First Response Wing, the unit was garrisoned at Launchsite 2A with several FSS-1000 Sabre launch pads to serve as the first response unit of the local UNSC planetary defense.[2]

Composition
A Wing in the Swords of Sanghelios consists of several aircraft, notably in the case of Lar Wing, at least five D'nomlhe-pattern Banshee. Wings are often deployed together[3][4]

Joint wings
Wings are utilised by joint-operating UNSC and Swords of Sanghelios forces, as part of the Anvil Initiative. Several such wings are stationed on ANVIL Station, with each boasting SPARTAN-IV and Sangheili pilots. Known wings including Union and Harmony typically operate in units of four strikecraft, consisting of fighters such as Elsedda-pattern Banshees. [5][6]
