Defense of Concord

In early December 2551, an unusually small Covenant fleet arrived at the Outer Colony of Concord, deploying ground forces to major cities such as Lethbridge. Coordination between the UNSC Army Rangers and the Concordian militia prevented the Covenant from gaining a foothold on the ground while S-14 Baselard pilots pushed Banshees and Vampires into range of the Army's M9 Wolverines, neutralizing the attackers' air superiority. Meanwhile, Concord's planetside mass drivers managed to hold back the Covenant naval assets long enough for a UNSC strike group to destroy the alien warships. Without control in space, the Covenant's ground forces were stranded and redirected their attention to attack smaller townships within the planet's remote Hinterlands region.
