Skimmer Alpha was the designation for a certain member of the Gasgira species serving alongside the Banished during the Installation 07 conflict. Both Skimmer Alpha and the other Skimmers in its contingent were more lethally outfitted than usual.[3] During the conflict, both Skimmer Alpha and its patrol were killed by John-117.[1]
Biography
Banished alliance
Skimmer Alpha and its contingent served under the Harbinger and thus also entered an alliance with War Chief Escharum and the Banished after the Harbinger was released from her cylix during the mercenary organization's occupation of Installation 07. At some point during the conflict, Spartan-IV Hudson Griffin encountered Skimmer Alpha's patrol and recorded a target dossier for them. He believed that eliminating the patrol and gathering any intel on the creatures—whether biological samples or simply strategic information—would be helpful in prolonging the UNSC's continued existence on the ring, should the opportunity present itself.[3] Separate Office of Naval Intelligence assessment of Skimmer Alpha and its contingent designated the targets as CODE RED and advised that the threat be eliminated on sight.[4]
During the Installation 07 conflict in 2560, the location of Skimmer Alpha was discovered by the Weapon. She passed on this information to Spartan-II John-117, who tracked down and killed both Skimmer Alpha and its patrol.[1]
Equipment
After entering an alliance with the Banished, Skimmer Alpha was outfitted with a modified Sicatt Workshop shock rifle called the Purging Shock Rifle, while the rest of its patrol was outfitted with normal shock rifles and captured VK78 Commandos.[1][3]
