Template:Ratings There are actual Easter eggs in multiplayer desert of Sandtrap and Sandbox. They are located near each of the pillar near the top right and on Sandbox, they are located inside the pillars. The eggs themselves are textured using a UV Mapping Reference texture (used to help artists paint textures on objects).
For a closer look, you'll need to overload the boundaries using Trip Mines which will allow you to go through, but the Eggs are high up. You will need to go into theater mode and speed up to the part where you overloaded the boundaries. With the boundaries no longer in place you will be able to push a free camera through and go upwards to see the Eggs. It is also possible to look at the UNSC Aegis Fate using this method, and you can only get into the partially built hangar.
To see the eggs on Sandbox, you'll need to get out of the map from the Sky Bubble by spawning a teleporter outside of the map. Fly to a tower (some towers have death barriers) and spawn a turret against the light in the tower. Have one person get on the turret and the other person pick them up. Drag them up the wall while they are still against it. Towards the middle of the light, the Easter Egg should be there. Blocking these eggs will result in their beams not being able to reach people that attempt to leave the map, therefore eliminating the threat of the guardians entirely.
These eggs have been confirmed to be the guardians on both maps. On Sandtrap, whenever a player enters the mine field, these eggs, located at the watchtowers, will fire a faint sentinel beam into the minefield which supposedly triggers the mines that kill you. These beams are supposed to be harmless to the player. A similar system appears on the map Sandbox. The only difference is that the beams are actually meant to kill you and the beams on Sandbox are also much easier to see than the ones on Sandtrap. Also, the beams on Sandbox can actually be blocked by an object including Bubble Shields.
