This unidentified Covenant station was located in a dense asteroid field near the gas giant Oth Lodon. A former Covenant system defense platform,[2] the station had fallen under control of the New Colonial Alliance, a human insurgent group, by 2558. It was armed with a powerful glassing cannon and was defended by numerous plasma turrets as well as missile batteries of human design added as a further defense.[1] The station was manned by a predominantly human crew, with its control center fitted with human-made interface consoles.[3]
History[edit]
Attack on Infinity[edit]
- Main article: Ambush at Oth Lodon
In 2558, the UNSC Infinity followed the coordinates to where the UNSC Spirit of Fire was believed to be. When they arrived at the coordinates, they found not the Spirit but Shipmaster Vata 'Gajat's ship, which was docked to the station. Captain Daniel Clayton contacted Infinity, revealing himself to be aligned with the New Colonial Alliance. Intending to exact revenge on Admiral Terrence Hood, Clayton fired the station's main energy beam at Infinity.[3] After firing three consecutive times, the cannon overheated. NCA forces detected a team of Spartans approaching on OF92 Booster Frames, so Clayton activated the station's point defense missile turrets. Clayton ordered 'Gajat to stop the Spartans, but 'Gajat decided to destroy Infinity instead. Fireteam Majestic and Sarah Palmer managed to avoid the missiles and boarded the station. The Spartans entered the command center and forced its crew to stand down. They then used the main cannon to destroy 'Gajat's flagship, killing him.[1]
Three days later, the UNSC sent a detachment of ships comprising at least one unspecified warship, Charon-class light frigate and Paris-class heavy frigate to repair the Infinity and monitor the station.[1]
