Template:Article Quote Ridgeline is a multiplayer map included in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for Halo: Reach. It is a remake of Timberland from the PC port of Halo: Combat Evolved, with several alterations to map layout.

Description

The map is set in a former UNSC staging area on a cliff overlooking an enormous Forerunner relay complex. Toward the end of the conflict on Installation 04, the Marine resistance in the area was wiped out by Covenant forces.[1][2]

Locations

The following are locations on the map that are so named on the player's heads-up display during gameplay:

  • Upper Red Base
  • Lower Red Base
  • Outer Red Base
  • Red Foothill
  • Overlook
  • Red Encampment
  • South Ridge
  • River
  • Upper Blue Base
  • Lower Blue Base
  • Outer Blue Base
  • Blue Foothill
  • Waterfall Path
  • Blue Encampment
  • North Ridge

Trivia

  • Ridgeline is the first map in the Halo franchise to include trees as a Forge item.[3] The forgable trees for this map are called "Tree, Dead"
  • Despite being set on Installation 04, the planet in the map's sky appears to be an earthlike world with visible continents and oceans as opposed to the gas giant Threshold.
