Operation: MARSH FLASH was an operation of the United Nations Space Command in Arizona, URNA on Earth on December 3, 2552, during the latter stages of the ongoing Battle for Earth. A part of the URNA Southwest Campaign, the operation occurred following the destruction of shielded Covenant positions centered around free-fire area OZONE on November 19, 2552. Directed by Fleet Admiral Joseph Harper, Operation: MARSH FLASH was undertaken by the UNSC Navy's Fifth Fleet, resulting in the deaths of clusters of high-value Jiralhanae leadership that were attempting to activate an "artifact" at OZONE.[1]
The success of the operation brought an end to the URNA Southwest Campaign, and thus the Battle for Earth. A report on Operation: MARSH FLASH and the rest of the campaign was later compiled by Admiral I. Zhou.[1]
