The Battle of Ross Island was an engagement between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant Empire, and a part of the Battle of Earth. The Covenant, fighting a constant battle with the UNSC for control of the planet, deployed forces to Ross Island, specifically Mount Erebus in the Antarctica, in search for unknown Forerunner relics. The SPARTAN-II Blue Team, consisting of Frederic-104, William-043 and Linda-058 were dispatched to neutralize the excavation with a HAVOK Nuclear Warhead, in which they succeeded, ending the battle in a quick and easy UNSC victory.[1]
