The Battle of Netherop was a battle that occurred when Blue Team attempted to capture a downed Covenant frigate on the planet Netherop. However, it was also a trap by rogue Fleetmaster Nizat 'Kvarosee which turns into a three-way conflict with forces from the Covenant, particularly the Silent Shadow and the UNSC who were allied with local humans known as the Castoffs.

Prelude

In the waxing months of the Human-Covenant War, and weeks after the overwhelmingly successful Operation: SILENT STORM, humanity's best chance for survival is a disable Covenant frigate filled with valuable technology that could help them win the war. It rests on an inhospitable world and offered to the UNSC by the same disgraced Covenant fleetmaster who failed to stop the SPARTAN-IIs in Operation: SILENT STORM.

The operation

The plan for Blue team and a marine company was to recapture the "lucky break" a previously captured covenant vessel now crashed on Netherop. However the "lucky break" was a trap laid by Kvarosee a Sangheli commander. The "Lucky break" took off before it could be captured. However Blue team was still able to deal a crippling blow to the rogue fleet and the covenant. They also managed to save multiple castoffs who aided in the operation. In the battle the silent shadow appeared with a modified 'Spirit' drop ship which allowed it to easily carry multiple vehicles.
