Free DLC for Halo 5: Guardians.

Downloadable content, or DLC for short, are sets of additional Co-op Campaign missions, multiplayer/Firefight maps, provided by Bungie, 343 Industries, Robot Entertainment, and Creative Assembly for Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 5: Guardians, and Halo Wars 2. Map packs have been released with one to six maps each.

Halo 2 map packs

Bonus Map Pack

Bonus Map Pack is a downloadable content package for Halo 2. It was released on April 25, 2005 as a free download sponsored by Mountain Dew.

Game type: Zombies

This downloadable content was a single game type named Zombies. It was obtainable though the Official Xbox Magazine Demo disc 45 as a download for Xbox.[1] This is the only official way to get the game type in Xbox version of the game.

Killtacular Pack

Killtacular Pack is a downloadable content package for Halo 2. It was released on April 25, 2005 for $4.99, and was made permanently free on June 28, 2005.

Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack

Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack is a downloadable content package for Halo 2. It was released on July 5, 2005 and included the maps found in the Bonus, Maptacular and Killtacular map packs.

Maptacular Pack

Maptacular Pack is a downloadable content package for Halo 2. It was released on July 5, 2005 for $11.99, and was made permanently free on August 30, 2005. The Maptacular Pack is the largest downloadable content package for Halo 2.

Blastacular Pack

Blastacular Pack is a downloadable content package for Halo 2. It was released on April 17, 2007 for $4.00, and re-released as an updated package on May 7, 2007 (still for $4.00), as several glitches discovered in the included content had been fixed. Blastacular Pack was made permanently free on July 7, 2007 (Bungie Day).

Halo 3 map packs

Heroic Map Pack

The Heroic Map Pack was the first downloadable content package for Halo 3. It was released on December 11, 2007, retailing at $10.00 (800 Microsoft Points). The pack was made free on March 25 2008, six months to the day after Halo 3's original release, readying for the release of the Legendary Map Pack. The Pack's maps includes a large Soccer Ball, along with other new items for Forge.

Legendary Map Pack

The Legendary Map Pack was the second downloadable content package for Halo 3. It was released on April 15, 2008, retailing at $10.00 (800 Microsoft Points). The pack's maps included Visual Effects filters, which alter the visuals of the game for Custom Games or Machinimas. The pack also included a free Bungie Pro subscription worth 700 Microsoft points. On July 7th, 2008, Bungie Day, the price was lowered in price to 600 Microsoft Points, but the Bungie Pro offer was gone.

Cold Storage

This map was released on its own, on July 7, 2008, as a free download to commemorate Bungie Day. Unlike the gamerpics, which were also available on that day, Cold Storage will remain available and free forever.

Mythic Map Pack

The Mythic Map Pack was the third multiplayer map pack and included six new maps, and new Forge Objects. The title of the map pack was confirmed by Joseph Staten and Frank O'Connor at Comic Con 2008, and by the new achievements.

The first half of the map pack, Assembly, Orbital, and Sandbox, were packaged as downloadable content using one-time codes alongside the Limited Edition of Halo Wars, which was released on February 26, 27, and March 3, 2009, depending on region, it is now available as the Mythic Map Pack on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The second half of the map pack is obtainable in the Halo 3: Mythic disc that comes bundled with Halo 3: ODST along with all the other map packs.

It was released on Xbox Live Marketplace on February 02, 2010. They are both now available on Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points each.

Halo Wars DLC

Unique unit: Fireball Warthog

This was a pre-order bonus exclusive to those who pre-ordered the game. It changed the color of the Warthog to the Fireball skin, also known as the Spirit of Fire variant.[2] This DLC was later included as part of the Halo Wars: Definitive Edition regardless of whether the user pre-ordered or not.

Unique unit: Honor Guard Wraith

This was a pre-order bonus exclusive to those who pre-ordered the limited edition of the game. It changed the color of the Wraith to the Honor Guard variant.[3] This DLC was later included as part of the Halo Wars: Definitive Edition regardless of whether the user pre-ordered or not.

Strategic Options Pack

Three gametypes were released for 800 Microsoft Points on May 19, 2009. It also included four new achievements.

Historic Battle map pack

The only multiplayer map pack for this game was available for download for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live, and was released on the July, 21st 2009. It also included four new achievements.

Halo: Reach map packs

Noble Map Pack

The Noble Map Pack was the first map pack released for Halo: Reach. It contains 3 new multiplayer maps and 7 new Achievements worth 250 Gamerscore and was released on November 30th for 800 Microsoft Points.

Defiant Map Pack

The Defiant Map Pack was the second map pack released for Halo: Reach. It contains two new multiplayer maps and one Firefight map. It includes three brand new achievements. It was released on 15th March 2011 for 800 Microsoft Points.

Anniversary Map Pack

Included with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and available on the Xbox Live Marketplace for $20.00, comes with seven new maps and achievements. Includes six remade classic multiplayer maps from Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 as well as one new Firefight map.

Halo 4 DLC

Crimson Pack

The Crimson Map Pack was the first map pack released for Halo 4. It contains three new multiplayer maps and eight new achievements. It was released on December 10th, 2012 for 800 Microsoft Points.[note 1]

Majestic Map Pack

The Majestic Map Pack was the second map pack released for Halo 4. It contains three new multiplayer maps and ten new achievements. It was released in February 2013 for 800 Microsoft Points.

Castle Map Pack

Forge Island

Champions Bundle

The Champions Bundle was the fourth content update released for Halo 4. It contains two multiplayer maps, four new sets of armor, a new gametype, and ten new achievements. It was released on August 20 for 800 Microsoft Points.[4]

Halo: Spartan Assault DLC

Five campaign missions were added as part of a title update on August 29, 2013.

Halo 2: Anniversary DLC

Upcoming updates

It was stated in the Halo Community Update The Calm Before the Gamescom that there is going to future updates to Halo 5 Guardians that include "New places to play, new REQs to wreak havoc with, and more."

Morgan Kinsano
