- December 10: Dr. Catherine Halsey makes an entry in her journal wherein she identifies four Spartan-IIs that she and Franklin Mendez agree are the best candidates for leadership out of all the children in the program. Those four are Kurt-051, Jerome-092, Fred-104, and John-117. Mendez is leaning towards Kurt but Halsey is confident that John is the best choice.[1]
