In 2005 the Xbox 360 was officially announced. The year also saw the release and ongoing support of several pieces of downloadable content for the previous year's Halo 2; including Title Updates and map packs.

- The Bonus Map Pack and Killtacular Pack for Halo 2 were released.[3]

- The Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack and Maptacular Pack for Halo 2 were released.[4][5]

- Halo 2 Auto-Update 4 is released.[6]
