- Dr. Catherine Halsey reviewed Kurt-051's progress noting he was good at bonding with his team. The review contained an image of a battle in 1066 that Kurt drew.[1]

- Fernando Esparza is born on Charybdis IX.[2]
May 24
- 0920: The SPARTAN-II candidates are forced to run through a course while being shot at with paint pellet guns. Each trainee that is hit by paint pellets is forced to do an exorbitant amount of push-ups.[3]

December 10
- Dr. Catherine Halsey makes an entry in her journal wherein she identifies four Spartan-IIs that she and Franklin Mendez agree are the best candidates for leadership out of all the children in the program. Those four are Kurt-051, Jerome-092, Frederic-104, and John-117. Mendez is leaning towards Kurt but Halsey is confident that John is the best choice.[4]

- Operation: OPEN GRAVE takes place on Meridian, where local forces led by the Meridian Air Force strike Aethia the small country that contained the leadership of the Sundered Legion. This Operation would later turn into the Siege of Aethia[5][6]
5 months after September 2517
- Doctor Catherine Halsey summons Jai-006 and Adriana-111 regarding their escape attempts and manages to convince them to stay by saying that she offers them a family in the form of the Spartan program.[7]
