Pressure seals are one of the major components of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor used by the SPARTANs. They are located throughout the armor system and are used where multiple armor pieces come together. They serve to keep the hydrostatic gel from leaking, thus providing the wearer constant pressure at every square inch of the body instead of a clumsy atmosphere found in the spacesuits of the 20th and 21st centuries. The seals keep the armor airtight underwater or in space and only break under extreme pressure, such as in a high velocity impact or when the hydrostatic gel has been over pressurized.[1]
