The Battle of New Constantinople was an engagement on New Constantinople in the Thrace system[3] between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant, during the Human-Covenant War in early 2537.[2] Danforth Whitcomb distinguished himself in the battles for New Constantinople.[5]
The SPARTAN-III program's Alpha Company highly distinguished themselves for their actions at New Constantinople,[1][4] undertaking Operation: IRON GREAVE.[6] The actions of Hazel-A302 during this battle caught the eyes of Whitcomb's advisors.[7] Despite the successes of the UNSC Navy and Spartan-IIIs, the Covenant returned in 2539 and glassed New Constantinople.[3]
