The Legendary variant weapons,[1] or Legendary weapons variant,[2] are weapons that can be unlocked in the campaign of Halo Infinite by performing various tasks.
Overview[edit]
Campaign[edit]
In campaign, Legendary variant weapons can be broadly divided into two categories: boss weapons, which are alien weapons acquired by defeating High Value Targets, and human weapons, which can be unlocked by acquiring Valor and requisitioning them at Forward Operating Bases. Legendary variant weapons of Banished and Forerunner origin can be distinguished by their white or silver painted appearance, while human Legendary variant weapons can be distinguished by their black colouration with yellow stripes and trim.
Some of the Legendary variant weapons are featured in Armory Infinitum, a series of flash fiction hosted on Halo Waypoint's regular Canon Fodder blog posts.
Multiplayer[edit]
Outside of their campaign use, Legendary variant weapons are available in the game's multiplayer. In matchmaking, they are typically available in Big Team Heavy, Super Escalation Slayer and Super Fiesta game modes.[3][4] Some Legendary variant weapons are featured prominently on specific maps; all may spawn in the locked vaults in the Big Team Battle multiplayer map Fragmentation, the Diminisher of Hope is available on Scarr,[5] and the Pinpoint Needler is the central power weapon on Prism.[6] All Legendary variant weapons are available as part of custom game settings and Forge placement.[7]
Boss weapons[edit]
Legendary variant Banished and Forerunner weapons can be acquired by defeating High Value Targets and bosses during the campaign. The sole exception is the M41 Tracker, a human rocket launcher wielded by one of the bosses.
All boss weapons can be spawned at a Forward Operating Base once their respective boss is killed.
