Arks are massive Forerunner installations designed with the primary purpose of manufacturing Halo rings.

There are two classifications of Ark: Lesser Arks, which produce rings 10,000 kilometers in diameter, and Greater Arks, which produce rings 30,000 kilometers in diameter. The only Ark known by designation, Installation 00, was a Lesser Ark.
