Overview[edit]
Design details[edit]
- Main article: SRS99-S7 AM sniper rifle
The S7 Flexfire Sniper is an experimental variant SRS99-S7 AM sniper rifle designed for mid-range encounters. Its modifications include an increased rate of fire and an increased magazine size of 10 rounds from the standard 4-round magazine. However, this variant is not pinpoint accurate and its scope only has one level of magnification optics at 3×.[3] It has additional yellow coloration on certain components, including the scope and the magazine.[5]
The functional differences present in the Flexfire sniper are reminiscent of the "End of the Line" variant of the older Series 5 sniper rifles.
Usage[edit]
The S7 Flexfire Sniper was employed by UNSC forces during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560.[2]
In-game information[edit]
In campaign, the S7 Flexfire Sniper is a legendary weapon awarded to the player in the Forward Operating Base progression system upon reaching 2,900 Valor; the weapon then can be acquired at any Forward Operating Base. It has an increased magazine size from 4 rounds to 10 rounds, with each round dealing less damage (killing a fully-shielded Spartan with 3 rounds instead of 2 rounds), though it has a more forgiving accuracy via a larger reticule. Furthermore, there is only one level of magnification optics at 3× instead of being adjustable between 5× and 10×.[2] The S7 Flexfire Sniper can also be acquired in the open world; one is located at the top of the mountains between the North and West anti-air cannons in the area where the level Pelican Down takes place, just south of a Spartan core and near an Arbiter toy.
In multiplayer, when players pick up or spawn with the S7 Flexfire Sniper, their customization options are automatically applied to the weapon model, and the unique appearance of the S7 Flexfire Sniper is lost.
