The Battle for Alluvion[1] was an engagement of the Human-Covenant War between the United Nations Space Command and Covenant on the planet Alluvion in the Bhaakto system in 2542 that resulted in the glassing of the planet.[1][4]
The battle
Alluvion was first discovered by the Covenant in 2541 by Covenant scouting patrols. One year later, in 2542, the colony was attacked by the Covenant. The United Nations Space Command managed to defend the planet with a substantial military force, keeping the Covenant at bay for weeks. However, a Covenant support fleet arrived and severed Alluvion's critical support lines, and the colony soon fell to the Covenant shortly after. The Covenant glassed major population centers and spaceports on the planet, leaving few survivors in its wake. By 2544, no human presence remained on Alluvion.[1]
Spartan Gabriel Thorne's parents were UNSC Army officers stationed on the planet at the time. They, along with Alluvion's human population, died when the Covenant glassed the planet.[4] Edward Buck participated in the battle.[3]
