- Cleyell is glassed by a remnant of the Covenant. The UNSC Cascadia deploys Army and Marine search-and-rescue teams led by Sergeant Holly Tanaka to relieve the stranded colonists on the surface.[1] After the mission, Captain French recommends Tanaka to the SPARTAN-IV program. She is recruited shortly after by Jun-A266.[2]
- The Hydra MLRS enters service.[3]
- The twin-plated forearms are used for the first time with the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor (GEN2), after being prototyped with (GEN1) years ago.[4]
- A complete withdrawal of Forerunner shield pylons on Alluvion's Sundark Sea causes the sea to collapse on those who remained within the Liang Dortmund's Alluvion Research Center.[5]
- During a routine search conducted on Beta Gabriel's Cortez Ocean, the crashed Covenant carrier Splendid Intention's remains suddenly shift from its resting place in the Aleutian Rim and violently slide down a nearby trench, sending debris and water in Fathom Station's northern terminal, tearing the complex apart, and killing forty-one researchers. Splendid Intention and the twenty-three explorers trapped inside the carrier are lost, and operations at Fathom Station are discontinued.[6]
- January 24: Border security at Checkpoint Rhoen on Sedra is forced to enact eight seizures on incoming ships. One of these raids yields highly refined fissile material. Laban Neir requests for an increase in equipment and personnel.[7]
- February 3: Checkpoint Rhoen is given management of planetary access in sectors four, five, and seven after two Office of Naval Intelligence D79-TC Pelicans are sent to Sedra.[7] Upon arrival, the ONI unit asks for twenty-five percent of Sedran Colonial Guard assets to aid them in their operations.[8]
- February 7: Sedra City is attacked by a Sangheili terrorist.[9]
- September 25: Believe, a musical event performed by the UNSC Symphony Orchestra, takes place at the UNSC Symphony Hall at 1930 hours. It is centered on remembering Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 and his service to the UNSC.[10]
- November 6: The Shadow of Intent returns to active duty, accompanied by unidentified logistical support craft, to pacify rogue faction forces in the Urs system.[11]
- After November 7: Onboard the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn, Cortana, showing clear signs of rampancy, files a report on the history of the Forerunners and humanity.[12]
