Modifying design patterns to enhance their performance was once considered apostasy. Improved Plasma Caster that fires two plasma bolts per shot and does not overheat.[3]

Scourge of Fire is a special variant of the Tufasumo-pattern plasma caster, custom-built for use by the local clans of Sanghelios.[1]

Overview[edit]

Design details[edit]

Main article: Tufasumo-pattern plasma caster

Scourge of Fire is a specialised modification of the standard plasma casters in Covenant service, modified from the base design pattern manufactured by the Merchants of Qikost to support specialised ammunition that fires more bolts-per-shot, and does not overheat. These modifications were done by regional Sangheili clans in spite of the strictures of the old Covenant empire, which considered such modifications apostasy.[1][3] Visually, the weapon is almost identical to a standard plasma caster, distinguished by its deep blue coloration with Covenant glyphs adorning the casing - particularly at the front half of the barrel and just in front of and above the trigger area.[4]

Usage[edit]

In October 2558, War Games simulations aboard the UNSC Infinity integrated the weapon for use by Spartan-IVs.[4]

In-game information[edit]

Halo 5: Guardians[edit]

Scourge of Fire is a Rare 4 energy REQ that restores REQ Points 100 REQ Points to the player's RP balance when sold. It operates exactly identically to the standard Plasma Caster, although it fires two plasma bolts per-trigger pull. Rapid-firing the weapon does not overheat it.[5]
