Miko was a Kig-Yar criminal operating on Cascade.
Biography[edit]
Miko ran the establishment Miko's Wheel in the Tamaraw district of Mindoro on Cascade. By late 2559, Miko had been in business for nearly a decade, running a large-scale money laundering operation. However, while ONI was aware of Miko's activities and considered him to be a serious problem, his identity was completely unknown to them. All that ONI had on him was his one name and he was never captured on camera.[1]
In around 2557, Miko discovered Chloe Hall in the West Mindoro Orphanage and, recognizing the girl's intelligence, hired her to do his books. Chloe was good with math and probabilities and Miko needed someone to doctor his books, help him clean money. Miko gave Chloe food and a place to stay in return, keeping her safe and paying Chloe better than the free community service at the orphanage. Miko later paid for a genetic test for Chloe, wanting to know where she came from, probably because he was hoping to find more like her. However, Miko could barely read human languages and was unable to make sense of the data. Chole was able to understand it, however, and discovered that she was a clone.[2]
On November 23, 2559, ONI sent James Solomon to retrieve Chloe. James' search led him to Miko's Wheel. James forced the bar's doorman, Clive, to take him to Miko, quickly dispatching his heavily armed guards. Miko shot Clive with a heavily modified MA37 assault rifle through the door, killing him. James was surprised to discover that Miko was actually a Kig-Yar rather than a human and evading Miko's fire, quickly overpowered him. James forced Miko to reveal where he could find Chloe before tying the Kig-Yar criminal up and tossing him out of the window, leaving Miko dangling over the street, supported only by the pipe that the cord was attached to. James figured that it would create a bizarre spectacle that would draw attention and force Miko's guards to focus on saving their boss over pursuing James. It was also embarrassing for Miko which James saw as rather fitting for a criminal who had never before been held accountable.[1]
