On a superficial level, the ''Song of the East'' bears a relatively close resemblance to the {{Class|Halcyon|light cruiser}} {{UNSCShip|Pillar of Autumn}} as depicted in ''[[Halo: Reach]]''. However, the ''Song of the East'' and the other cruisers in its flotilla differ from the ''Halo: Reach'' model in a number of details; specifically, having different window arrangements, the antenna-like protrusion at the front of the ship being double the length of the ''Autumn'''s, the radar dishes being smaller and in different configurations across the ship, different numbers and locations of small antennae and four less point defense turrets than the ''Autumn''.
