Many machine guns are classified based on what kind of mountings that they are on. for example. the modern M240 would be classed as an Light Machine Gun if it were mounted on a bipod, and as a GP/Medium Machine gun if on a Tripod. Also, many modern HMGs were classified as such by their bulkiness and weight, even though they'd be using the 7.62mm NATO round. --[[User talk:WhellerNG|WhellerNG]] 01:40, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Wait a tick

Wasn't this weapon used on the Scorpion Tank variant seen in Halo 3? It was pintle-mounted, in a place where the tank commander would usually sit/stand. 24.165.43.22 00:03, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Clarification

I just did a major re-write and update. Hopefully this will clarify the article. CDurham 17:44, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Image

I don't suppose anyone has a better picture of the portable version of the turret? The current is really hard to make out. --MagickaMaster 06:53, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Pelican

Some believe that this is the gun under the Pelicans nose in Halo 2. they look nothing alike! they perform simalerly but all that means is they're both medium machine guns with a relatively low rate of fire.Maiar 07:18, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Same rate of fire and damage, but different skins. I thought it looked similar to the AIE-486H chaingun of Halo 3. --Councillor Specops306 - Qur'a 'Morhek 08:26, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Portable's Crew

Is it known how many people (meaning average marines, not Spartans) it takes to carry, deploy, and use the portable version in combat? Would one marine be able to handle it, or would he need another to help him? Iceman117 02:45, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

Well, on Cairo Station you see Sergeant Johnson deploy a portable turret without any aid. He just sling it off of his shoulder, mounts it, and then proceeds to operate it.

I hope this was of help.TK 234 17:24, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
