Sacred Promise was the name of a Covenant CCS.

History
The Black box from the vessel was recovered, though the booklet never specifically mentions where. At the beginning of the recording, the vessel has already sustained heavy damage. The Captain orders most of the weapons of the ship offline due to some kind of extensive danger. He then requests protection from the Devotion and fighter support from the Commitment and Patience. However, the enemy contact fires a "projectile" that ruptures the fuel cells of Commitment and Paitence, and it vaporizes almost instantly. There is some kind of impact and the Sacred Promise loses drive control, and descends toward the "Primary satellite". It seems that its own fuel cells were ruptured as well though. There is no other information provided about the vessel, weather any crew survived, or what they were fighting.
During an engagement with UNSC forces, the Sacred Promise was severely damaged, forcing the weapons to be taken offline. An attempt was made to elicit support from the Devotion and fighter cover from Commitment and Patience. However, before any help could arrive, Commitment and Patience was crippled by a well aimed Kinetic Penetrator round which ruptured several fuel cells and put the main drive into 'runaway state'.

The bridge crew of the Commitment and Patience completely lost drive control and the ship crashed into the thin atmosphere of a local satellite after a failed attempt to stop the engines by forcibly ejecting the ship's fuel cells. The transmissions (recorded in Conversations from the Universe) between the Sacred Promise and other ships ended after the destruction of the Commitment and Patience and its fate remains unknown, however, it is safe to presume that it was destroyed by UNSC forces.
The "Projectile" could possibly be a human MAC gun round, but this cannot be confirmed.

The vessel is of unknown size, but we can speculate from its name that it is a larger vessel, perhaps a CCS-class battle cruiser or a carrier.
Sacred Promise was mentioned in the Transmissions as sending a taunting message to the Pillar of Autumn.  Thus, it may have been part of the Covenant's Fleet of Particular Justice during the Battle of Reach. It was also mentioned in Conversations from the Universe.

It should be noted that Cortana, for reasons unknown, sent the Sacred Promise a taunting message of her own.

Summary

The events surrounding the fate of the Sacred Promise are unknown both to the other characters of Halo and the fans of the game alike. A message from the Sacred Promise was included in the Conversations from the Universe booklet, which came with the extended edition of Halo 2.

The "Projectile" could possibly be a human MAC gun round, but this cannot be confirmed.

The vessel is of unknown size, but we can speculate from its name that it is a larger vessel, perhaps a CCS-class battle cruiser or a carrier.
