The Anlace-class frigate is a United Nations Space Command class of frigate in service with the UNSC Navy.[1]
Specifications
Superstructure and hull
The Anlace-class' design is considered somewhat novel for the UNSC Navy, with a lifting body hull and maneuvering systems well adapted for atmospheric operations.[3] It is the smallest-known frigate to date.[2]
Armament
Offensively, the Anlace-class lacks a spinal Magnetic Accelerator Cannon[4] and missile pods in the most common configuration. Instead, it relies on directed energy weapons for sustained combat operations between resupply.[3] Nevertheless, a small MAC is built atop the frigate, mounted further back than on other models.[2]
Service history
Creation
In the aftermath of the Human-Covenant War, hundreds of Anlace and Strident-class heavy frigates are being assembled in the shipyards above Mars and Tribute to replace combat losses and engage remnants of the Covenant still occupying the Outer Colonies.[1]
Infinity
UNSC Infinity is capable of carrying a small fleet of ten frigates of either the Anlance or Strident class in its sub-vessel bays.[5] Some Anlace frigates were deployed by the UNSC Infinity during the Battle of Kamchatka on October 2558.[3]
