Battle of Alpha Aurigae

The Battle of Alpha Aurigae was a major battle in the early years of the Human-Covenant War. The human fleet, consisting of 117 ships,^[1] engaged 12 Covenant warships, destroying the enemy force but losing a total of thirty-seven ships in the process.^[2] It was one of the rare naval "victories" for the UNSC.

Trivia

Although the short story The Impossible Life and the Possible Death of Preston J. Cole clearly states that Preston Cole had one hundred seventeen ships under his command, Halo Wars: Genesis states he only had one hundred seven. The reason behind this ten-ship discrepancy is currently unknown, though it could be a misprint.
