Colonization
Did the Encyclopedia literally state that humans settled on Luna, Mars and the Jovian Moons within a single year? I'm asking this because I would assume that colonization of other planets is a slow, deliberate process that needs to be done gradually. Does it really make sense that we'd just colonize every possible world right away without first trying it out on the Moon and then Mars? Not to mention the logistical problems that come with colonizing 3+ worlds at the same time with limited resources. Again, humanity has no prior experience on interplanetary colonization at this point. I don't think the most plausible idea at a situation like this is just to go in and start settling every possible planet/moon in the system.
Now, if the Encyclopedia says the humans began settling all of the aforementioned worlds within the 2080's, that makes more sense, though I think even a single decade is a stretch. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 18:21, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
- "2080 - COLONIZATION: Humans settle on Luna, Mars, the Jovian Moons, and asteroids."
- — Halo Encyclopedia
- That basically says that they settled on there with in the same time period, but I don't think we should take it literally. It could just refer to the time period that major colonization efforts went under way, because "settle" is a very loose term. Template:Sgt.T.N.Biscuits/Sig
- That's what I thought. The article seems to give the impression that they literally colonized all of them within that year. From that, it seems that the year 2080 marks the beginning of extraterrestrial colonization - most likely beginning on Luna. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 18:32, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
