Henry Gibson

Henry Gibson was the captain of the Human luxury starship, This End Up . Gibson's nickname is "Hank". During his life, he always found that piloting a ship by himself-with only the minimum aid from a computer-gave him his greatest joy. He piloted Civilian cruise ships for many years, enjoying the ability to steer without aid and the time away from his two now ex-wives enjoyable, but found the constant noise to be too much for him and left it to instead serve as a hauler for products from Harvest. His personal touch helped distinguish him from other services and brought him a great deal of respect. His life was expectantly ended when a Covenant boarding party invaded his ship in search of Forerunner relics they had believed to be onboard. He nearly succeeded in killing a Grunt named Dadab, but was killed by a rock thrown by Dadab's Huragok companion Lighter Than Some.

Trivia

• Henry Gibson is the first human being to ever encounter a member of the Covenant, although he did not live long afterwards.

• The prototype JOTUN Harvester on his ship was inspected by Lighter Than Some, and later served as the Huragok's inspiration for four one-wheeled devices that would come to be known as Choppers.
