The Gravity Wrench is a deleted Covenant weapon intended for an early version of Halo: Combat Evolved. It was possibly the inspiration for the Plasma Pistol, and may have provided titular basis for the Gravity Hammer. It may have also inspired the spartan laser as it must charge and then fires a strong beam. In addition, it appears to be wielded like a flamethrower, or in Halo 3, other Support Weapons. It may have been intended to be used as a maintenance device by the Covenant although, Bungie stated that it did more damage than repairs.
