The Kestrel is a UNSC aircraft seen in the Halo 2 Collector's Edition disc. It was placed by modders into custom maps available only to Halo Custom Edition.

• Since the Kestrel is an aircraft, it may have weapons similar to the Hornet's machine gun and missiles, and the Hornet itself. It may also be used to transport troops quickly if it has a troop bay, much like modern helicopters.
• The Kestrel was also a cargo ship in Halo: The Cole Protocol.

In Halo Custom Edition the kestral flies some what like the hornet. I does not have missiles on most maps but uses the chain gun. The kestral has to keep moving forward or its altitude willd ecrease like the banshee. Th kestral can hold up to about 6 people sorto f like the pelican dropship.
