Harland

Corporal Harland is a veteran marine who assumed tactical command during the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV after his commanding officers were wiped out. Harland and three members of his squad, Private Fincher, Private Cochran, and Private Walker encountered Covenant Hunters, and narrowly won a retreating fight against two Banshees. After returning to the primary headquarters in the city Cote d'Azur, Harland calls for reinforcements, not expecting the SPARTANs.

Harland was then debriefed at Reach, and at one point asked the Master Chief if he could join the SPARTANs, but couldn't get a straight answer from him. After the debrief, Harland's fate is unknown since he had a grim look on his face shortly after.

There are five possible fates for Harland

1. Harland got discharged from the UNSC and returned to Earth

2. Harland dies on Reach

3. Harland is on security detail with the S-III project

4. Harland gets re-assigned to Earth

5. Harland survives Reach, but perishes elsewhere.
