Anti-Gravity Barges are vehicles used by the Covenant for civilian transportation in their cities and major installations.
The barges use anti-gravity generators for lift. The only time they are mentioned in the Halo series is in the novel Halo: Contact Harvest. They are used in major cities such as High Charity, and could possibly be used in other major installations like the Unyielding Hierophant. They are normally used to transport large numbers of Unggoy and Kig-yar. The barges can be overloaded, causing them to crash. This is a normal occurrence on High Charity. On High Charity they are controlled by the city's transportation grid. Many higher ranking members and Hierarchs in the Covenant have their own personal gravity barge for their own use.[1]
