Dust and Echoes is a song included in the Halo: Original Soundtrack.

Appearances

It plays during the end of The Maw, in the ending cutscene.

Overview

This track gives the player the feeling of being alone; that they lost everything and that the victory came at a terrible cost, which it did. Rather than infect the universe with the Flood or activate Halo, which would destroy all intelligent life in the galaxy, the total destruction of the ring was concluded to be the only course of action.
