René-005[1] was conscripted into the SPARTAN-II Program in 2517. When the time came for the Spartan augmentations in 2525, René became crippled and could not fight anymore. She was last known to be floating in a neural buoyancy gel tank next to Kirk, with his or her skeletal system twisted beyond recognition "so that they hardly looked human anymore". The last time René was seen was on the UNSC Carrier Atlas. Her current whereabouts are unknown to date, even the gender.[2]
Trivia
- René most likely does not have the rank of Petty Officer Second Class, as her role in the SPARTAN-II Program ended before graduation.
- René is known to be a French name.
- René's Spartan-tag might be 081, due to a possible reference in Halo 3 ODST. (KWO 081R)
