Template:Vehicle Infobox The Type-27 Anti-Infantry Stationary Gun, abbreviated as Type-27 ASG, is a Covenant anti-infantry gun turret and one of several turret models commonly identified as Shades.[1]
Design details
The T-27 ASG is made up of the turret with a frontal plasma shield on top of an anti-gravity mount, making it the only Shade variant with a plasma shield. It is also more portable than other variants.[2]
Tactics
- The frontal plasma shield is very effective in protecting the gunner from projectile fire, so throw plasma grenades to destroy it.
- When a Sangheili mans the turret, their head can be seen protruding above the plasma shield. Use a scoped weapon to take them out by head shots.
- In the beginning section of the level Delta Halo, use the T-27s scattered around in the area to take down the approaching T-52 "Phantom" TC's Heavy plasma cannons as well as the deployed Covenant infantry.
Trivia
Halo 2 multiplayer maps that have Shade turrets, such as Headlong and Zanzibar, sometimes have M247 General Purpose Machine Guns replacing them instead.
